Gloria Colom Braña grew up in a household full of architectural models and an assortment of artwork along Puerto Rico's tropical coast. She would go on to do her bachelors degree in environmental design at the University of Puerto Rico, a masters in historic preservation at Columbia Univerity, and her M.Arch at the university of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently working towards a PhD in Folklore with a focus on vernacular architecture and historic preservation at Indiana University where she lives with her husband, cat, and dog.
